Scott Page, President

"Our approach to our customers is old-fashioned," says Scott.  "We deal with our customers individually.  It's what has set us apart and what we will continue to emphasize."

Tom Page, Executive Vice President

"Banks make their money by making loans," Tom says.  "When you want to borrow money, you don't want to talk to a computer.  You want to get some advice and you want a quick decision."

History Tells The Story

Experienced Staff

"People Come First"

Pony Express Bank isn't about a history lesson, but the 110-year old community bank does have one of the most extensive records of achievement of any financial institution in the area.

Pony Express Bank began in the small northwest Missouri farming town of Braymer.  The bank's charter was first issued in September 1890 as "Farmers and Traders Bank of Braymer".  In 1904 the bank became "First National Bank of Braymer".  In 1993, as southward expansion began, the current name "Pony Express Bank" was adopted.   The firm's early days were not unusual for a community bank in a rural location.  Farm loans, community involvement, and personal service were the keys to the bank's growth.  The bank even helped build a telephone line in 1901 from Braymer to Stet.

This kind of community involvement helped build the bank's customer loyalty.  It's one of the reasons why the bank opened in 1890 with an investment of $20,000 and today lists assets of over $130 million.

Much of the growth has occurred in the last decade as the Northland's population has increased.  With its personal service, especially for small-business and commercial customers, Pony Express Bank has proven to be a valuable partner in Northland growth.

Pony Express Bank has another aspect to its history as well.  Scott Page, President and CEO, and Tom Page, Executive Vice President, are their family's fourth generation of  community bankers.  Originally from Plankinton, South Dakota, the Page family has served in community banking since 1915.

Locally Scott worked nearly a decade at two Liberty area banks before being named president of Pony Express Bank.

Tom joined the bank in 1997 after extensive bank experience, including serving as president of the family bank in South Dakota.

The rest of the Pony Express staff isn't new to the profession, either.  At the original bank in Braymer, the employees have more than 218 years experience!  The friendly staff at the Liberty bank has more than 300 years experience.

Combined with the latest in banking technology, experience and attention to the personal side of banking has brought results.  For example, Pony Express utilizes the latest in check imaging technology to help customers better access their transactions.

Pony Express values technological improvement while continuing old-fashioned, face-to-face banking.
